Un entretien vidéo du Club Mémoire & Avenir de l’association des anciens fonctionnaires de l’UNESCO
Instaurée en 2008 par le Congrès international des Archives (ICA) et l’UNESCO, la Journée internationale des archives est célébrée le 9 juin pour commémorer la date de création du Conseil international des archives par l’UNESCO en 1948.
Cette année, cet événement marque le 75e anniversaire de cette organisation, qui défend l’importance de la conservation et de l’utilisation des documents et des archives dans tous les champs de l’activité humaine, et promeut la profession d’archiviste dans le monde entier.
Il s’inscrit dans la Semaine Internationale des Archives, qui se tient à l’UNESCO du lundi 5 au vendredi 9 juin 2023 et sera consacrée à promouvoir l'importance des archives et de l’archivistique.
A cette occasion le Club Mémoire & Avenir de l’Association des anciens fonctionnaires de l’UNESCO (AAFU) s’entretient avec :
Fackson Banda, responsable de l’Unité du patrimoine documentaire de l’UNESCO et du Programme Mémoire du monde,
Adama Pam, Chef archiviste à l’UNESCO,
Eng Sengsavang, archiviste.
Leurs échanges sont animés par Jens Boel, ancien Chef archiviste et membre du Conseil international des archives.

Established in 2008 by the International Congress on Archives (ICA) and UNESCO, International Archives Day is celebrated on June 9 to commemorate the date of creation of the International Council on Archives by UNESCO in 1948.
This year's event marks the 75th anniversary of this organization, which champions the importance of preserving and using documents and archives in all fields of human activity, and promotes the archival profession worldwide.
It is part of International Archives Week, held at UNESCO from Monday June 5 to Friday June 9, 2023, and dedicated to promoting the importance of archives and archival science.
On this occasion, the Club Mémoire & Avenir of the Association of Former UNESCO Staff members (AFUS) talks to :
Fackson Banda, Head of UNESCO's Documentary Heritage Unit and Memory of the World Programme,
Adama Pam, UNESCO Chief Archivist,
Eng Sengsavang, archivist.
Their discussions are moderated by Jens Boel, former Chief Archivist and member of the International Council on Archives.
